Ruminations on hedonism

Facing the lascivious demons hiding underneath your bed,
Playing with your grinding hedonistic thoughts,
Tears you apart, limb for sun-scorched limb,
Stretching your hope,
Snapping the rope through disgust from the other side
Of the torture chamber of chemicals, wiggling around
In the crevices the mind, playing tag with your synaptic
Clefts and throwing a ball tied to a myelin sheath,
In hopes that the game would turn in your favor,
But no, the tournament of lies envelopes the trepid
Ruminations inside your brain’s cavity.

You call out, but no one seems to hear your shaking voice,
Trembling with the earth, vibrating at the speed of sound,
You seem to think that it is all so funny, but the only
Diversion is your lack of rank in the light of humility,
So hide in your mind, and shelter yourself from the coming
Freeze of thoughts to come.
